Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said Cpl. John Seale, a 19-year veteran of the sheriff's office, fired several rounds that did not strike the boy, who then gave himself up.
Did he miss because he’s that bad of a shot? Don’t think so! With all the attention given to the office the past couple of days by the media, I’m willing to bet he missed purposely to avoid media scrutiny and Monday morning quarterbacking by the office. Do the math: dead suicidal teen equals tremendous scrutiny from the media and John Q. Public on how LEO’S do their jobs, S.O. Policy, etc. etc. Or alive suicidal teen equals job security for that deputy and the office comes out looking good which I’m sure it will shamelessly self promote! Lots and lots of posts about Tony this, and Tony that, but what most are disregarding is PERCEPTION. Perce[ptin is everything in an election. What is the candidate running on? The internal frustration, anger, resentment, feeling of betrayal, concerns about experience, are NOT concerns that the electorate is contemplating.
Learn from 2016 that you cannot win by attacking the other guy-especially when that other guy is black. Today, whether you like it or not, the reality of PUBLIC perception is that Tony is organized, efficient and committed to law enforcement. There's a million posts on here to the contrary, but unless you have a candidate with a future PLAN that is more sell-able to the public, Tony will be the candidate. Israel will not prevail with his haughty " Well, I know Broward, and he doesn't" schpeel." He comes across as a caddy ex-wife jealous of a trade in. Jeff Bell's bravery in the no confidence/billboard issue was commendable. He hit the nail on the head. However, his current interviews, while the content may be truthful, he is coming across to the PUBLIC as a disgruntled late career cop who is resistant to change. Your task is to find the candidate that suits the agency and someone that the public will embrace; not someone who is "better, or worse" than Tony, but someone with a more attractive PLAN for the future of law enforcement in Broward. John Fry comes up often. While his Margate history is potentially problematic, that's the league of candidate that needs to step in. Go find that candidate. " Brains" is an attractive quality this time around' and will be a winning ticket for 2020.
