To be sure, Charlie Brown was a polarizing figure at the VCSO and there are differing views about whether he deserved to be fired. But despite your opinion about Charlie, theres no doubt that his recent appeal before the Personnel Board shined the spotlight on some unethical, highly disturbing and morally questionable dealings by Chitwood. In its analysis of the affair, VolusiaExposed laid bare the total and utter hypocrisy of what Chitwood stated was his central justification for firing Charlie -- that he supposedly had a habit of operating in the so-called gray areas. After listening to many hours of testimony in the case, VolusiaExposed concluded that even if that were true, Chitwood likewise operates in the gray areas and that is far worse and way more concerning. They also concluded that Charlies firing appeared to be politically motivated. What made their complete rebuke of Chitwood all the more startling was the fact that up until now, VolusiaExposed seemed to be a fan of Chitwood. No more. Heres a direct quote from their analysis: While Captain Browns alleged actions would be the sins of just one deputy the apparent sins of the sheriff and his internal affairs division is an indictment of the entire VCSO administration.
