Chief, I must admit your no different then any other that's been promoted from within. Same-O, same-O. Your patrol division and falling apart, cause of lack of good leadership. You as so many others promote not on ability to lead, take control but by race. Your North end commander is a clueless as a new born puppy. Yet, will play the blame game so she looks like, she has a handle on it. You come across and this saver for us and the community and you fall short, way short. More officers out on the street?? Sure, they wouldn't happen to be selected for a new special unit?? Just asking, that's seem to be the norm around here. Instead of listening to just your over inflated staff and their ego's. Try talking to the patrol officers, you know the ones that are the backbone to any law enforcement department. Well, anywhere else but here. The ones working the area, know what's needed and a possible fix. I know that's asking a lot, us peon's are only good for calls for service and looking pretty for all your special units to boss around. Oh, can't forget them stat's! What that shows is a white wash to the voters. Your staff is and will tell you what you they think you need to hear or want to hear. At the same time singing a different toon to city hall to secure their own advancement.
Now, my two-cents of a opinion, which is worth less then that. Start at the top! Everyone starts at the bottom to fix. Hold your staff accountable! At least a wee-bit more then the patrol officers. Are all these special units really needed?? Sure, they can give you stat's, a band aid for a really short time. To appease city hall, after all, isn't that what stat's are for? I know, I know, it's job security too. You worked patrol, oh so long ago, what if anything you might remember, you would of changed? Way back then. Something, to maybe get you going..... City hall and those they have chosen from within our department, will be telling you oh your doing great. At the same time carving their names on your azz to be replaced. All chief's surround themselves with yes men or ladies. You don't need that! Put in good people, look for yourself, not relay on staff to tell you who. F&F are still going strong under your leadership!!! I'm impressed, your acting skills are impressive. You even had me fooled for about a week.
